We know our customers expect retailers to have responsible business practices – we're committed to taking a responsible approach to sourcing and trading. So, we set high standards for ourselves and those doing business with us.
We strongly value our vendor relationships, which are built on a foundation of honesty and trust. Our Code of Conduct ensures vendors and their subcontractors know what we expect on issues including working hours, safety in the workplace and wages and conditions.
We audit vendors and provide education so that they understand our expectations and can develop processes to meet and exceed these expectations.
Our internal Trading Standards team makes sure that products we buy are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. If we find a product in our stores that doesn't meet these, we ensure the item is immediately removed.
We love rugs, but we don't sell fur. Since 2003, we have not sold real fur of any type at Homesense. We do not knowingly source Angora products.
We do not sell children’s clothes that are inappropriate or unsuitable for children to wear.
We are careful that the products we sell meet standards of decency. We don't knowingly sell products that have offensive language or imagery.
Our buyers are always looking to source more organic and Fairtrade cotton clothing for our stores.
